My Thesis Project at UCI, I explored player immersion in videogame experiences through the design and implementation of environmental audio and soundscape. This includes practical approaches to building soundscapes and collect player feedback to quantify the efficacy of design mechanisms and choices. Particular player experiences that I am interested in exploring relate to immersion in the world of the game and psychosomatic responses to the environment. I explore the effects, challenges, and limitations of Stereo and Binaural Playback systems by building a version of the game using each delivery system, which you can see video playthroughs of above.
